Shopping Guide at HK Day 2 & 3

After having a long rest the first night, we were feelin' refreshed! Had our brunch over at Mido cafe, just behind our hotel, so convenient!
Food was gooood but somehow i find that the place is overrated with tourists 'cause of the ambience of traditional HK cafe.

After filling our tummies, we headed to Allied Plaza by walking up to Prince Edward.
Allied Plaza is one of the places we researched the night before. Heard that if you like Argyle Center's clothes, their clothes there should be suitable for you. However, the prices were steeper like the cheapest with latest style we could find were at least 100 HKD. No more 69HKD or 2 for 100HKD there.
It's a pretty small mall only 3 levels for shopping? Mainly girls clothing tho.

So we decided to head for Mongkok to shop instead.
But on our way there, we chanced upon this crowded street, Fa Yuen Street. I remember one of my friend telling me that there are things to buy there.

Luncheon meat and egg toast!!

Condensed milk and peanut butter toast!!

Jack had "ZHU PA Noodles" aka Pork cutlet noodles!

Our energised faces!!

Juicy sweet and sour prawns!

My must-have drink at HK!! Ying Yang****

Crossing opposite to the plaza!

Here we are!

Get ready to shop faces!!

Touristy shot!

Fa Yuen Street!

Best buy here is that i bought 8 pair of shoes in total!! Cheap and goood!

Had a quick dinner at DA JIA LE! after shopping for 5 hours straight! Look at that baked pork cutlet rice i couldn't even...

That's my almond beancurd! Puuurrrfect fr a rainy night!

Walked around ladies market in search for better prices than the night before under the pouring rain!
'Cause Jack said that the tenants will entertain us ONLY as they wouldn't have business in this kind of weather, True that.

That's like ginger ah boling!

Durian rolls nommmmm hehe but durian could have tasted better.

While waiting for rain to subside... We were all drenched upon reaching this dessert store. My shoes were wet from inside out! Anyway the weather in HK is so so much better than SG. Sun was strong there but there was wind together with it, and it rain a little sometimes.

DAY 3 : LAST DAY IN HK

Walking to Australian Dairy from our hotel for our lunch/breakfast!!

When we first saw the queue we were like WOWWW, but after waiting for 10 mins or so, we got in!! Fast and furious indeed.

Picture perfect!!! (but we felt disturbed by male staff(s) who kept appearing infront of us/ beside me for no reason...)

HK just love macaroni, don't they?

Inexpensive menu!

First set of the day! :)

Their scramble eggs were well done!!

Our dessert egg white steamed milk! Best to order it hot!!
and milk tea ain't that sweet just nice ^^

Back on train for more shoppping.

Our messy lil' room!

That's what i bought! not that much right?!?!

Our last dinner place boooohooo :(

Queued for 15 mins or so! (even tho we went at 9 plus!)  Luckily there's free wi-fi available for us to entertain ourselves.

Best chee cheong fun!!! They pour the sauce on the spot for you!

Siewmaiiii slurpss

Everybody's staring at us 'cause we order so much? But we were hungry and it was our last night what. STARE WHAT STARE LA. kidding HAHA

I forgot what's this but it's quite nice! :)

Their custard buns aka liu sha bao won't flow out one!!!! :/

CHIX LEGSSSS.

Total bill added up to 170+ HKD for two pax which i thought was rather cheap since we ordered so many dishes!!

Thanks to Jack, i got a whole window seat row all to myself when flying back!!! I can stretch my legs as far as i want ^^

Posting all these photos makes me miss HK so so much, i'm gonna visit you soon HK!!!! But i will pay a visit to Tokyo and BKK first hehe

Day 5 / 28: Courage

It's been a good morning, starting with a run with my dear good friend who lives nearby. Walked to Bedok Reservoir under scorching hot sun, we were even sweating before our run.
Heard it's 4.3km for that whole run, but i swear it was much longer than my own run around my vicinity where i stay. I ran, i paused, picked up my speed again, sprinted as far as my legs could bring me.
Didn't manage to record how far was it, and my timing but i think we ran for a good 20 + mins.
Walked back home to cool down. Made a pact with her that we probably should do this every week!

Weight has been rather constant, it went up and down due to the food i ate the past few days. Wednesday i had few slices of pizza, 2 bottles of blanc, yesterday ate half of waffles + churros for my lunch and dinner.
But am gonna be on a strict diet from today onwards, as i promised myself results after this 28 days period. Since i am gonna packed for work from tomorrow onwards, diet should be able to go as planned :)

Am nuts 'bout nuts!!!! you can call me a CHIPMUNK HAHAHAHA i can finish the whole packet of nuts myself.

My favourite and most economical packet of snack for life

Second top favourite! this 360 gm of nuts i can finish it within 2 days?! HAHA totally crazy about them!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have been thinking a lot recently.
How this half a year passed and what about 1 year after i have graduated.
Another semester more and i'll be graduating (if everything falls smoothly).
Time definitely passed way faster than i thought it should be. And i wonder how did i survive this hectic half year with so many odd jobs.
This won't been easy without my family and friends.
How things changed within a year and it's all lead to courage.

Courage

I was once lost with directions, i did not know whether to pick up from where i left from poly or start having a job after poly. But i guess pursuing my degree after poly was a choice i didnt regret, leading me making new friends whom are with me now, and of course my boyfriend.  (P.S. I didn't go uni just to get a boyf ok)

The courage to go on studying, the courage to try out different things when you're young, especially I'm only just 21. There's probably 9 more years for me to experience. The courage that you thought you never had but it all up to you if you want more exposure to the world. You wanna see the world, you wanna try to touch the sky to see where's the limit. You wanna know how far you can push yourself, till you think (ok that's enough).

You wanna tap on that person's shoulder and say "Hi", but you just can't reach and give it a try. You know you don't just wanna be strangers, you just need that little courage. A little bit will do, it might change your life, it might make an interesting twist in life for you, you will not know till you try.

You wanna lose weight and you don't wanna people laugh at you for being a fatty bom bom, you wanna show people that you can actually do some results, just be a little stronger than before, you know you can do it.

Honestly, i am not looking forward to graduation 'cause i dont wanna start my working life so soon. But as society presses you to move on, you have to start finding a decent job to live up with the rest. I don't know what i wanna be, i can't decide my mind. However, I know graduation is not the end, there's so many things for me to SEE, EXPLORE, FEEL. I am not gonna end my journey here for a mundane life. I'll be a little braver to choose a career that will bring me happiness most importantly. As long as i love what i am doing, I believe that i won't give up that easily.

Life is a box of chocolates, you don't know what you'll get till you try and take one, but each time you try, you know you're a little braver.

P.S. Shopping guide @ HK Day 2 & 3 will be up next!!

Shopping Guide @ HK DAY 1

So yessss i flew to Hong Kong last weekend during midnight. Spent a 4D3N there, eating and shopping all day long. Initially our plan was to BKK, but looking at the riot and their unpredictable situation there, we decided to fly to the dim sum land which is another shopping heaven!

This toooot decided to send me off in the middle of the night ('cause it happened to be our 3rd month oops hehe)

Our shagged faces w/o proper sleep.

To those who haven't been to HK, or haven't discover new places to shop apart from famous Ladies Market and big shopping malls e.g. SOGO etc., here's a guide to all ladies (mostly ladies clothings) on where to shop for cheapest (e.g. Bugis street pricing)!

Touched down around 550am and went to eat breakfast straightaway after depositing our luggages at hotel. We stayed at Silka Seaview Hotel.  We took City Express Bus from Airport, A21. It's only a 30 min ride from airport. (Never to take MTR from Airport 'cause its so troublesome to lug our luggage up the stairs. Stairs are quite a norm in HK MTR.)

As the hotel is located at Shanghai Street, we have to cross the road when we alighted at Yau Ma Tei stop. (Ask the bus driver on where to stop so that you'll not have to waste time missing/stopping at a stop earlier!)

A rather small hotel room as expected from all hotels in HK, but it is clean and it is really looks like a HOTEL (unlike those guesthouses in TST and Mongkok).

This is how small the room is. Just enough for two.

What i love about this hotel is that it is like a walk away from Yau Ma Tei MTR Exit C, 2 mins walk to a lot of eateries, esp famous claypot rice and dessert, as well as famous Mido Cafe (used for shootings in most hk dramas) and across the road it is the well-known Temple Street and a Chinese Temple called Tin Hau Temple

Dim sum for breakfast! First thing was to visit Tim Ho Wan. I have never tried THW in S'pore before. Thus, after having heard so much hype about it, i can't wait to make my first try @ Hk's outlet. They have quite a few outlets in HK, so the nearest to our hotel was at Shamshuipo, where we alighted at Prince Edward MTR Exit A. (Alternatively, you can alight at Shamshuipo MTR)

We followed one of my friend's self-drawn map guide, where she told us to turn left when exiting MTR, but not towards Playing Field road, but to walk straight and cross the small road opposite MTR, passed by a cha chan teng and cross the road with traffic light, pass by a market and keep walking straight till we saw the sign of THW.

Not much hype here in HK tho? No crowd seeen queueing as bad as the one in S'pore.  This outlet open the earliest at 8am!!

Remember to wash your utensils with the pot of hot tea provided! They will often put a bowl on the table, that is the bowl for dirty tea after you have washed with the utensils. Of course, you can drink the pot of remaining hot tea ('cause they do charge that per pax basis)

Being gluttons, we ordered so many at a go!!

A must to order in HK: Prawn chee cheong fun!

My favourite CHIX FEEET ALL BY MYSELF! (prefer those reddish ones tho)

Very fresh har gao!

Gui Hwa Gao! (refreshing dessert!)

The spring rolls were just fine.... not that nice.

Siew Maissss were delicious too!

Legendary pork buns!!! Crispy inside out and fillings are just enough together with thin outer layer of flour, unlike Sg's?

Ordered so much but the bill is only SGD $23+?
CHEAPPPP.

Chanced upon the HK Star, Laughing Gor but didnt manage to take pics with him, thus his car instead.

Shops in HK don't open so early as 10am so we headed to F21 @ Causewaybay as they are the earliest of them all.

Back to Mongkok for shopping! First stop: Argyle Centre - Mongkok MTR Exit B2

A place for Girls!! Prices are like Bugis Street's or even cheaper. Shorts for like less than $10?
It's airconditioned somemore and it is 4 stories high?

This is like cold noodles! They called it "LAO MIAN" 捞面! Only 5 HKD for 3 bags of noodles + ingredients and you get to choose your own ingredients like octopus, crabmeat, hotdog. It's one of the "IN" things for youngsters in HK. Cheap and good. Not filling though. It's just their popular snack!

It can be found at the highest floor of Argyle Centre! (One of the corners!) Rmb to add a little spicy - 小辣 for the taste to be better!

Damage done within half of my first day!

Who don't love street food?!! A MUST TO when you're in any country!

Their curry balls really UP there!! I can't take spicy it's too freaking spicy for me!!!

My love: CHOU TOFU!!
I didn't like this in the past, but i don't know what has gotten into me when i began to like it two years ago....

Wanted to get some local delights and so we went to get ourselves bowls of....

WANTON SOUP!!!!

Dumpling Soup!!

Went back to Argyle Centre to shop further before we discovered this famous brand of 捞面!!

鸡蛋仔 for $2 SGD!!

My favourite nom nom snack!! (oops photobombed @ Ladies Market)

Ladies Market, at the heart of Mongkok attract countless tourists daily. BUT PLEASE DONT GET CHEATED BY THE PRICE. Jac wanted to buy a selfie stick and the person quoted her $120 HKD and we walked off 'cause its too expensive and she dropped her price to $30 HKD?! Absurd price to kill us as tourists.
Just walk off when it isn't your desired price in mind. Trust me, the price they quote will get lower and lower, according to the distance you walked away from them.
Speak in English so that they will respect you. :)
Quote half of the initial price to see if they accept, otherwise, just head off.

Alright, here's my DAY 1 of HK trip!!
More tips to come in the next post! :)
